The examination of the Local Plan took place between January and December 2016. It began when the Authority submitted its final Plan and ended when the Authority adopted the Plan.
Inspector's report & adoption
The Authority received the Inspector's final report in December 2016. The Inspector found the Plan to be sound provided a number of 'main modifications' were made to it.
The Authority considered the Inspector's report and resolved to adopt the Plan so that it could be used in planning decisions from that point forward. The Authority has produced an interim version of the adopted Local Plan text. This will be replaced once a fully published version has been prepared, however the text itself will remain unchanged.
A final set of Policies Maps is currently being prepared and will be published on this website once ready.

The Secretary of State has appointed Inspector Roy Foster MA MRTPI to conduct the Examination.
To assist the Inspector, an independent Programme Officer, Caroline Pattenden, has been appointed to work under the Inspector's direction. The Programme Officer is responsible for organising the programming and all procedural matter.
All future correspondence relating to the examination should be via the Programme Officer.
