SDF aims to support projects that help people to understand and enjoy the National Park. A case study and some other recent examples are below.
Falls get a facelift
This project aims to improve the appearance of the area around West Burton waterfalls for residents and visitors. Thanks to a £4,350 SDF grant, the existing concrete and iron rod railings which separate a small parking area from the falls and are adjacent to a popular viewing point have been replaced with new galvanised black railings. The new railings incorporate four themed panels that focus on the wildlife in the area, they also act as a safety barrier for people viewing the waterfalls. The applicant and landowner was Burton cum Walden Parish Council.
