Planning enforcement exists to ensure that breaches of planning control are acted upon in the public interest. Planning breaches include situations where development has been carried out without permission or where the development has permission but does not comply with any conditions set by the planning authority.
The Planning Service is responsible for enforcing planning regulations, listed building regulations and investigating breaches of planning control.
