Ingleton Waterfalls

The Ingleton Waterfalls Walk has been a popular tourist attraction for over a hundred years. Day trippers from industrial towns such as Bradford and Leeds, came in their thousands by train on high days and holidays during the late nineteenth century. Now people come year round to follow the well marked trail which climbs up alongside one river and then returns down through a different gorge.

Along its length you will see some of the most interesting geological features in the National Park as well as some of the most spectacular waterfalls. Pick up a trail leaflet from one of our National Park Centres if you want to know more about the geology of the area.

The walk also takes you through some wonderful gorge woodland areas which are part of a larger Site of Special Scientific Interest. Read more about the wildlife here on our Nature in the Dales website.

You need to buy a ticket to follow the Waterfalls Walk which you purchase at the start of the trail in Ingleton.
