Where can I buy maps?
You can buy Ordnance Survey maps from one of our National Park Centres or using our online shop. By purchasing products through us you are helping to support our work looking after the footpaths and carrying out wildlife conservation projects.
What are the best maps to buy?
It depends what you're doing. In the UK, the Ordnance Survey produces two scales of map useful to a visitor:
1:25,000 Explorer
This is the most detailed map which shows things like walls and streams. If you're walking or mountain biking, this is the best scale to take with you.
1:50,000 Landranger
If you're on the bus, driving around or road cycling, this scale shows roads, villages and towns.
