What is the Duke of Edinburgh's Award?
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a personal development programme for people aged 14 to 24. It's a real adventure from beginning to end. You will be helping people, the community or the environment, getting fitter, developing skills, going on an expedition and taking part in a residential activity (Gold only).
There are opportunities to achieve your volunteering section of the Award at Bronze (14+), or Silver (15+), with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.
How to take part
If you wish to ask about taking part in DofE in your area – as a potential participant, a participant's parent or as a potential voluntary supporter – go to the Taking Part page of the DofE website at www.dofe.org/takepart to find a county or district level contact who will be able to tell you about your nearest DofE group.
