Our members have different skills and areas of expertise, interests and pastimes. One thing unites them - they love the Yorkshire Dales National Park and work to represent the National Park Authority in conserving, enhancing and promoting this wonderful place.
Individual Members of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority are appointed to 'champion' specific areas of the Authority's work. Their key roles are:
- To represent and champion the individual service to a wide audience.
- To assist officers with the implementation of the Authority's policies and to develop future policy proposals for consideration by the Authority and its committees.
- To report back to the Authority and its committees on their work.
- To act as a 'sounding board' for senior officers regarding the discussion of new ideas and initiatives, bringing the 'member perspective' to these discussions.
