Over the last 10 years we have been running a programme of walks and activities for groups who would otherwise not be able to visit the National Park.
Who is it for?
Dales Experience works with people who often don't visit the Yorkshire Dales including; people who have a disability, mental or physical health conditions, who experience disadvantage, young people and those from minority ethnic groups who live in, or within an hour's travel of the National Park.
What can a group do?
The programme offers day visits to introduce groups to all the amazing places in the National Park. Each visit is planned to suit the interests and abilities of the group. It can include a walk through stunning scenery, sitting quietly on the riverside, visiting a local farm or practical conservation tasks. We work hard to make every visit enjoyable and interesting. We hope that people will be inspired to spend more time in the outdoors.
How much is it?
Each visit is planned with the group leader and one of our activity leaders who will look after the group on the day. We also have limited funding that can pay for a contribution towards transport costs for groups who do not have their own transport and cannot afford to pay for a minibus. We can also loan waterproof jackets for the day.
