What is the Duke of Edinburgh's Award?

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a personal development programme for people aged 14 to 24. It's a real adventure from beginning to end. You will be helping people, the community or the environment, getting fitter, developing skills, going on an expedition and taking part in a residential activity (Gold only).

There are opportunities to achieve your volunteering section of the Award at Bronze (14+), or Silver (15+), with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.

How to take part

If you wish to ask about taking part in DofE in your area – as a potential participant, a participant's parent or as a potential voluntary supporter – go to the Taking Part page of the DofE website at www.dofe.org/takepart to find a county or district level contact who will be able to tell you about your nearest DofE group.

Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Award  - volunteering

Our Young Rangers programme is suitable for Young People who wish to complete the volunteering section of the Bronze and Silver Award. There are three young ranger groups which are based in the South, West and North of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
