Location
Malham Cove, Malham, North Yorkshire
Description
Malham Cove is the most iconic feature of the Yorkshire Dales – it is also one of the most popular places for people to visit! Consequently the footpath to the Cove, carrying an estimated 185,000 visitors per year, suffers from wear and tear and requires continual maintenance.
Your group will get the opportunity to work with members of our Ranger team in helping to protect and improve this important public right of way. The task involves shovelling, barrowing, laying and raking out limestone aggregate to resurface the path. No previous skills necessary!
Doesn’t sound exciting? It may not be the most exciting job – but your team will get a tremendous sense of satisfaction from a job well done and from knowing that they have made a difference in helping to look after a little bit of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. They will also have the opportunity to get out of their normal workspace, learn new skills and go back to the office a stronger team!

Other information
We will provide safety boots, gloves, tools and full supervision for the day. Individuals will require outdoor clothing that they don’t mind getting dirty and possibly wet weather gear (it has been known to rain - but that doesn’t stop the fun!)
Parking is available for all participants at our car park in Malham village, from which the site is a short walk (0.5 mile). This task involves a high level of physical activity and requires a good level of fitness. We are however able to tailor the level of work to your group size and their abilities.
Costs
We ask companies to make a donation to the National Park for our corporate volunteering opportunities. Revenue we raise from our Corporate Days helps us continue to look after the Yorkshire Dales National Park. For a group size of 10 we suggest a donation of £500.
