The stunning dark skies of the National Park, so free from light pollution, are one of its very special qualities.

To celebrate, the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks - together with Nidderdale AONB - are teaming up to hold our fourth annual Dark Skies Festival from 14 February to 01 March 2020, with loads of great activities for all to enjoy.

Previous festivals have included night time cycle rides and lantern walks, rocket and planet making workshops, talks about astronomy, discovering nocturnal creatures, and a fantastic multimedia experience with our pop up planetarium. Not to be missed!

You will be able to find the full programme on our special dark skies website.

If you have stars in your eyes, you can read more about stargazing in the National Park or download our top tips brochure.
