The GreenLeaders Programme has been developed for accommodation businesses to showcase green practices and attract potential customers using TripAdvisor. The Programme identifies hotels and B&Bs that are committed to green practices like recycling, water efficiency and alternative energy. There is no fee to apply and your application is completed on-line.
After successfully applying, your business can qualify as a GreenLeader or a GreenPartner. GreenPartners meet the programme’s minimum requirements for environmental activities, but have not yet qualified for a GreenLeader badge.
TripAdvisor displays celebratory badges on property listings and (for GreenLeaders) on search results for hotels in your area. Visitors to your TripAdvisor page can see the full list of all the green practices currently in place at your property and are invited to comment on your green practices.
This feedback is monitored by TripAdvisor’s Responsible Travel team and TripAdvisor works with an independent organisation, to conduct business audits. In addition to audits triggered by traveller feedback, there is also a set of audits conducted every year of applying and participating properties, carried out by an independent sustainability organisation.
