Where?
The free viewpoint is at the bottom of Malham Cove next to the public footpath. Here wardens can give you updates on all the birdlife you can see.
Don't have binoculars? Don't worry! We have high-powered telescopes on site for excellent close-up views of all the birds.
Opening times
The free viewpoint is open from Thursday to Monday (closed Tuesday and Wednesday) from Thursday 29 March until Monday 30 July 2018.
Staff and volunteers will be there from 10.30am until 4.30pm. With the help of telescopes, they are on hand to show you these magnificent birds and the wildlife of Malhma Cove.
Opening times are dependent on the weather - get up-to-date information from Malham National Park Centre.
How to get to here
From Malham National Park Centre it is just under a mile to walk to Malham Cove. Walk through the village and join the wheelchair accessible footpath across fields (signposted to the Cove) to the viewpoint.
What to wear
There is no shelter at Malham Cove, so please were outdoor clothing suitable for the weather conditions.
How you can help protect peregrines
Peregrines are fully protected by law. It is a criminal offence to disturb them at or near the nest.
The British Mountaineering Council is once again actively promoting temporary climbing restrictions so climbers do not get too close to the nest site. An area at the top of the cliff has been roped off to stop people walking down onto the large ledge. This is to prevent any potential disturbance to the nesting birds and hopefully, later in the season, their young.
North Yorkshire Police ask visitors to help play their part in this year's nesting attempt by following on-site notices and not getting too close to the nest site.
Malham National Park Centre
Found as you enter Malham village from the south, Malham National Park Centre (grid reference SD 900627) has a large car park (charges apply), toilets, an exhibition telling the story of Malham Cove, tourist information services and a shop. The opening times of the Centre can be found on the Malham National Park Centre page.
People with disabilities can park at Malham and there are also RADAR toilet facilities.

Coming to Malham village
By car
The main road to Malham enters the village from the south. Turn off the A65 at Gargrave and continue through the villages of Airton and Kirkby Malham to Malham.
All the roads to Malham are narrow and often have poor visibility due to frequent bends, gradients and stone walls. Around any corner there may be a slow-moving farm vehicle, livestock, walker, cyclist or perhaps even a deer, low flying owl or bird of prey. Please drive with care and take your time.
By train
The nearby railway stations at Skipton, Gargrave and Settle are on the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle line. You will then need to catch a bus to Malham. The best connections are from Skipton. For details of bus services visit the Dalesbus website.
